Management of mangrove forests needs the quantitative data on the changes of ecosystem components. Edge effects and microclimate gradient are the quantitative parameters that usually used by researchers to describe the forest microclimate. This study develops a mathematical modeling for the determination of edge effects and microclimatic gradients in mangrove forest. The research was carried out on mangrove ecosystems of different canopy cover and fragmentation. Research results show that the fragmentation and canopy cover have a significant effect on microclimate, as indicated by the gradient and the depth of edge effectsen_US
